Egypt sees slight increase in temperatures on Sunday: EMA

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects a slight increase in temperatures on Sunday compared to their normal rates during this time of the year, coinciding with the beginning of the last week of the month of Touba.

Moderate weather on Sunday will prevail during the day in Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, the North Coast and northern Upper Egypt, and warm in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

The EMA warned that the weather at night and in the early morning will be very cold over most of the country.

Weather maps showed formations of morning fog on some agricultural and express roads and roads near water bodies, growing occasionally dense in areas of Lower Egypt, the Suez Canal cities and central Sinai.

Daylight hours are expected to increase in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, Suez Canal cities, South Sinai, the Red Sea mountain ranges, and Upper Egypt, while the weather will be partly cloudy on the northwestern and eastern coasts and central Sinai.

Greater Cairo will see fog and moderate winds reaching 28 km/h. At the northern coasts, northern Lower Egypt and Suez Canal cities, dense fog with winds reaching 20 km/h are expected.

Temperatures expected on Sunday:

  • Cairo and Alexandria: 21C
  • Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh: 24C
  • Luxor: 27C
  • Aswan: 28C
