Hamas ensured that Saturday’s release of three hostages was done in a more organized fashion, after learning the lesson from Thursday’s more chaotic round of releases, a former hostage negotiator told CNN.
Baskin added that after Israeli protests to the mediators, Qatar and Egypt, were delivered to Hamas, the militant group “took care to make sure that this morning the three hostages were released in a quite orderly fashion.”
Chaotic scenes marred the release of Israeli and Thai hostages in Gaza on Thursday, bringing condemnation from Israeli leaders and a temporary delay in the release of Palestinian prisoners, who were ultimately released later in the day.
