Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly issued a decision to set Saturday as an official paid holiday on the occasion of the January 25 Revolution anniversary and Police Day, for all employees in ministries, government agencies, public bodies – in addition to public sector companies.
According to the decision, the progress of school exams (if any) will be exempted according to the dates specified by the relevant authorities.
According to the annual agenda, the expected official holiday dates in Egypt for 2025 are as follows:
- Saturday, January 25: January 25th anniversary.
- Monday, March 31: Eid al-Fitr.
- Monday, April 21: Sham el-Nessim.
- Friday, April 25: Sinai Liberation Day.
- Thursday, May 1: Labor Day.
- Friday, June 6: Arafat Day.
- Saturday, June 7: Eid al-Adha.
- Friday, June 27: Islamic New Year.
- Monday, June 30: June 30th Anniversary.
- Wednesday, July 23: July 23 Revolution.
- Saturday, September 6: Prophet’s Birthday.
- Monday, October 6: Armed Forces Day.
Some of these holidays may incur changes in their dates based on moon sightings or subsequent government decisions.
