Rain likely, cold temperatures expected during weekend

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has released a forecast for Friday and Saturday.

According to the forecast, Friday will see moderate weather across most of the country, with warm conditions in South Sinai and South Upper Egypt. However, temperatures will be quite cold at night and early morning, with the possibility of frost in North Upper Egypt and Central Sinai.

The authority has warned of dense fog in the morning on some agricultural roads and areas near water bodies. Additionally, there will be active winds in parts of the northern coasts and South Sinai.

Light to moderate rain is expected in parts of the northern coasts and North Lower Egypt on Friday.

The rain may extend to South Lower Egypt, Canal cities, Central Sinai, and the Gulf of Suez. Thunderstorms are also likely in the northwestern coastal areas and may spread to other northern coasts, Lower Egypt, Canal cities, and parts of Sinai as the day progresses. Cairo can also expect light rain.

On Saturday, light to moderate rain is expected in parts of the northern coasts and North Lower Egypt, extending to South Lower Egypt, Canal cities, Central Sinai, and the Gulf of Suez.

Temperatures:

  • Greater Cairo and North Coast: Maximum 19°C, minimum 11°C.
  • Northern Coast: Maximum 19°C, minimum 9°C.
  • North Upper Egypt: Maximum 20°C, minimum 6°C.
  • South Upper Egypt: Maximum 22°C, minimum 10°C.
