Egypt signed four memoranda of understanding with Uzbekistan to advance bilateral trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural relations.
Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania al-Mashat and the Uzbek Ministry of Ecology, environmental protection and climate change signed the agreements at the conclusion of the 7th session of the Egyptian-Uzbek Joint Committee activities that was held after 15 years.
Also a cooperation agreement between Ain Sham University and Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies was signed, with a view to enhancing cooperation between the two institutions at the level of academic programs and joint research activities.
The Egyptian Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) in Egypt and the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, in addition to the signing of an agreement between the Uzbek region of Samarkand and the Alexandria Governorate to further promote trade, economic, scientific, artistic and cultural ties.
Meantime, the Egyptian minister of planning and international cooperation and the Uzbek minister of investment, trade and industry signed the protocol of the 7th session of the Joint Committee for Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, that stipulated pressing ahead with enhancing areas of cooperation between the two countries in 14 developmental spheres; namely the sectors of trade and investment, as well as partnership between the public and private sectors, in addition to the fields of industry, energy, health, agriculture, higher education, communications and information technology, culture, tourism, civil aviation and transportation.
