Transport min.: Presidential directives to expedite cooperation with Iraq

Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel al-Wazir asserted the depth of historical ties between Egypt and Iraq, highlighting directives of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to accelerate current cooperation with Iraq and meet its needs.

This came during Wazir’s meeting with Governor of Iraq’s Karbala Nassif al-Khattabi to discuss means to boost cooperation between Egypt and Iraq in different fields of transport and benefiting from the expertise of the Egyptian companies in the field of urban transport and information technology, in addition to establishing modern public transportation projects and infrastructure projects in Karbala governorate of Iraq, according to a statement of the Ministry of Transport on Thursday.

The Egyptian government pays great attention to participating in the Iraqi plans to upgrade the Iraqi state in all the different domains, in light of Egypt’s pioneering experience in these domains.

Meanwhile, Khattabi asserted the strength of Egyptian-Iraqi relations, lauding the major developments that took place in Egypt in the different domains under President Sisi.
