Egypt’s squash team won the World Team Championship title, defeating its English counterpart (2-0), on Sunday, in the final of the tournament held in Hong Kong from December 9-15.
Mazen Hesham defeated his English counterpart Curtis Malik (3-2) with results at 4-11, 13-11, 6-11, 11-6, 11-8, in a match that lasted 63 minutes.
Ali Farag defeated his English counterpart Mohamed al-Shorbagy with a score of 3-1 in a match that lasted 50 minutes, with the results being: 6-11, 13-11, 11-8, 11-9.
The Egyptian national team includes the quartet: Ali Farag, Mostafa Asal, Karim Abdel-Gawad, and Mazen Hesham.
Egypt started its journey in the World Team Championship by defeating Spain and Japan 3-0.
The Egyptian team also defeated Canada in the round of 16, then Germany in the quarter-finals, and booked a ticket to the final by defeating the French team.
