Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hany Suwilam conferred with Regional Director for Sustainable Development in the Middle East and North Africa (MNA) region at the World Bank Mesky Brhane on Climate Resilient Agri-Food System Transformation (CRAFT), one of NWFE projects.
This came on the sidelines of Suwilam’s participation in the activities of COP16 conference held in Riyadh to combat desertification.
During the meeting, Suwilam said that there was previous coordination to prepare for implementing integrated activities and upgrade irrigation system in addition to supporting the abilities of farmers and reusing sanitation water in agriculture.
The vision of the Irrigation Ministry focuses on improving the total efficiency for using water and increasing the revenue of the water unit, he said, pointing out to the importance of counting on modern irrigation systems in agriculture and expanding the use of solar energy in lifting water.
