Israel’s military is currently conducting several strikes in southern Beirut, shortly after issuing warnings to 20 buildings which it says are Hezbollah targets in the Lebanese capital’s southern suburbs.

The warnings were shared on Tuesday through the Israel Defense Forces (IDF)’s Arabic-language social media accounts, including the X account of IDF’s Arabic spokesperson, Avichay Adraee.

According to Adraee, the targeted buildings are located in the areas of Al-Hadath, Haret Hreik and Burj Al-Barajneh – regions known to be strongholds of the militant group Hezbollah.

The IDF stated that the strikes are aimed at buildings it says are used by Hezbollah. Residents were urged to evacuate and maintain a distance of at least 500 meters (about 1,640 feet) from specific buildings identified and mapped in the warnings.

Tuesday’s warnings mark the highest number of warned buildings issued by the IDF in a single day.
