Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Hany Sewilam asserted that before COP26 the water issues were not included in the agenda of climate action not only in Egypt but in the whole world.
This came in Sewilam’s word in a session under the rubric “work for water and climate adaptation and flexibility” on Wednesday16/10/2024 as part of the 7th Cairo Water Week held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi until Thursday.
Egypt is keen on establishing an early alarm system not only in Egypt but also in Africa to help the African countries face the climate risks, he said.
He asserted Egypt’s support to Africa Hydrological Conference to work on understanding and raising the awareness with hydrological changes, saying that Egypt increased the budget of administering water resources.
