Assistant Tourism Min: Partial Trial Run of GEM ‘Important Step’ Towards Official Opening

Assistant Tourism and Antiquities Minister for Archaeological Affairs Abbas al-Tayyeb stressed the importance of the partial trial run of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), saying it is an important step towards the official opening.

In statements on Wednesday16/10/2024, al-Tayyeb underlined that the museum’s main halls are stretched over a large area of nearly 18,800 square meters, stressing the necessity of conducting a trial run to measure and ensure the operating system’s flawless performance of the museum’s halls ahead of the still-unannounced official opening.

More than 100,000 artifacts of Egypt’s ancient treasures will be displayed in the world’s largest archaeological museum.

It is expected to receive nearly 15,000 visitors daily.
