For 15 days, Egyptian banks open accounts for free without a minimum

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced opening accounts in banks operating in the local market for free and without a minimum, starting from Tuesday for 15 days.

The MBC Masr channel reported that this step comes on the occasion of the Global Week for Financial Inclusion and the World Savings Day.

The CBE stressed the importance of issuing prepaid or debit cards to customers and encouraging them to activate and use them in purchase transactions.

The list of financial inclusion events that banks celebrate every year includes:

  1. Women’s celebration from March 8 to 31, coinciding with International Women’s Day.
  2. Arab Financial Inclusion Day celebration from April 1 to 30.
  3. Youth celebration from August 1 to 15, on the occasion of International Youth Day.
  4. Farmer’s celebration from September 1 to 15 on the occasion of Farmer’s Day.
  5. Savings celebration from October 15 to 31 on the occasion of the Global Week for Financial Inclusion and the World Savings Day.
  6. People with Disabilities celebration from December 1 to 15 on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
