Investment min. meets delegation from Indian company ‘Sanmar’

Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Hassan al-Khatib met Chairman of India’s TCI Sanmar Chemicals company PS Jayaraman and his accompanying delegation.

TCI Sanmar Chemicals is the largest integrated producer of Caustic Soda, PVC and Calcium Chloride Granules in the MENA region with state-of-the-art technology.

During the meeting, the minister affirmed keenness on providing facilitations and incentives to all local and foreign investors in the Egyptian market.

He said his ministry is assiduously working on easing business procedures for investors and overcoming obstacles facing companies operating in Egypt.

The meeting reviewed the projects being implemented by the Indian company in Egypt and its expansion plans within the upcoming period.

Khatib highlighted that the company intends to pump more than $300 million to expand its production capacity and is studying the establishment of a sea dock west Port Said Port to receive the raw materials needed for its industrial activities.

For his part, Jayaraman lauded the Egyptian government’s supportive role, especially the investment ministry and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI).

He invited the minister to visit the company’s factory in Port Said governorate.
