President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Saturday 12/10/2024 took an inspection tour of the new Upper Egypt Railway Station in Bashtil, Giza governorate.
The President was briefed by vice-chairman of Egyptians for Investment and Urban Development (EIUD) about reasons behind choosing the location of the railway station in Bashtil, which is located between Ramsis and Giza train stations.
Giza governorate is the gateway to Upper Egypt and Bashtil triangle is the meeting points of Egypt’s most important railways, namely Aswan-Alexandria railway line, the vice chairman said.
The station is surrounded by Cairo and Giza’s most important roads and axes, including the new 26th of July Axis, the Airport road to the north, the 26th of July Axis to the south, Sudan Street to the east and the Kamal el-Din Hussein Axis to the west, the deputy head of the EIUD said.
He added that the station is linked to public transportation systems, serving as an interchange with the West Nile monorail at the Beshtil station, the third metro line, Wadi El Nile, Adly Mansour.
Also, the station is linked to the bus services on the ring road and the bus station that carries commuters across Greater Cairo, the EIUD deputy director said.
