Egypt will go head-to-head with Mauritania Friday night as part of the third round of the African qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Morocco.
Another match against Mauritania is lined up for Tuesday in the fourth round. If Egypt wins both matches, it will secure top spot in their group and qualify for the finals.
Egypt is competing in Group C, which also includes Botswana and Cape Verde. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the final tournament.
Housam Hassan took over as coach of the Pharaohs after the departure of Portuguese coach Rui Vitoria due to Egypt’s disappointing performance in the last Africa Cup of Nations held in Côte d’Ivoire.
The match between Egypt and Mauritania will kick off at 7:00 pm Cairo time.
