The Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation has successfully evacuated 286 Egyptian citizens from Lebanon who wished to return to their homeland amid the ongoing developments in Lebanon, according to the RT Arabic website.
In coordination with relevant state agencies and institutions, the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation operated a special EgyptAir flight carrying 22 tons of medical and relief aid to Lebanon. The aid, including 12 tons of tents and blankets provided by the Egyptian Armed Forces and 10 tons of medicines and medical supplies from the Ministry of Health, arrived at Beirut Airport on Saturday.
The EgyptAir flight brought 286 Egyptian passengers back to Cairo International Airport.
According to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the Egyptian Ambassador to Beirut, Alaa Marsi, provided the Egyptian Foreign Minister with a detailed briefing on the field developments in Lebanon and the situation of the Egyptian community there, assuring that, so far, the Egyptian embassy has not recorded any casualties among Egyptian citizens in Lebanon as a result of the Israeli aggression on Lebanese territory.
The Foreign Minister directed the Egyptian Ambassador in Beirut to continue monitoring the situation of the Egyptian community and providing all forms of care for them. The Minister also directed the Egyptian Ambassador in Beirut to receive the shipment of Egyptian medical aid, which President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi had directed to be sent urgently to Lebanon during a previous call with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, in light of the situation Lebanon is going through.
This comes in light of the directives of the political leadership to follow up on the situation of the Egyptian community in Beirut and to provide all forms of support and care for them, in light of the developments taking place in the sisterly state of Lebanon.
The Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation, Mohamed Manar Enany, affirmed that the ministry places the safety and comfort of Egyptian citizens around the world at the top of its priorities, especially in light of the emergency circumstances that the region is witnessing.
President Sisi had affirmed Egypt’s full support for Lebanon and its standing by its side in these difficult circumstances, and its rejection of any harm to its security, stability, sovereignty, or territorial integrity. He stressed the need for an immediate, comprehensive, and permanent ceasefire in both Lebanon and Gaza.
Sisi directed the immediate dispatch of urgent medical and relief aid to Lebanon in solidarity with its brotherly people, affirming Egypt’s continued support for Lebanon at all levels
