FM Praises ICRC Role In Alleviating Suffering Of Palestinian People

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel Atty hailed the role of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in alleviating the suffering of Palestinian people.

During a meeting held on Wednesday25/9/2024 with President of the ICRC Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, on the sidelines of the meetings of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Egyptian minister reviewed Egypt’s efforts to bring Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip to a halt, the importance of reaching a ceasefire agreement, securing unimpeded flew of humanitarian aid and sparing the region negative consequences of slipping into a regional war.

Abdel Atty praised the activities of the ICRC mission in Cairo, and its ongoing cooperation with the Egyptian authorities to raise the level of awareness of international humanitarian law in cooperation with the National Committee on International Humanitarian Law.

He pointed out to the distinguished partnership with the Egyptian Red Crescent Society in the field of implementing humanitarian activities.

Meantime he voiced appreciation of efforts of the International Committee of the Red Cross as an independent and neutral organization that ensures the protection and assistance of victims of conflicts and violence.
