FM Stresses Egypt’s Keenness On Boosting Ties With Venezuela

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty stressed Egypt’s keenness on prompting relations with Venezuela, enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields and pressing ahead on efforts of coordination of bilateral and international issues of common interest.

During a meeting on Wednesday 25/9/2024 with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Gil Pinto on the sidelines of the high-level meetings of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Egyptian foreign minister highlighted the importance of boosting economic and trade relations between the two countries, increasing trade exchange rates and the possibility of Venezuela benefiting from exports that Egypt has a competitive advantage, stressing the need to expand the scope of cooperation to include areas such as agriculture, animal production, fisheries and civil aviation.

Abdelatty praised the Venezuela’s support of the Palestinian cause and voting in favor of relevant UN resolutions.

Meantime, the foreign minister reviewed the latest developments pertaining to Egyptian efforts to reach a ceasefire and Egypt’s mediation efforts in this regard.

Egypt sees no alternative but to take clear steps towards implementing the two-state solution and establishing the Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
