Egypt’s October 6th holiday to fall on Sunday for the public and private sectors

As September draws to a close, interest in the coming October 6th holiday has increased, as employees look towards the last few holidays they can enjoy this year.

According to the calendar, the October 6 holiday falls on Sunday this year, in celebration of the fifty-first anniversary of the October War victories.

The Prime Minister is expected to issue a decision to consider Sunday, an official paid holiday for workers in the government, public and private sectors, including school and university students.

The October War Victories holiday is an official paid holiday according to the provisions of the labor laws in force in the country, which allow the employer to summon the employee on their official holiday if the need for work requires their presence in exchange for compensating the worker financially by paying double the wage for this day for the private sector, or granting an alternative day off for workers in the government sector and the state administrative apparatus.
