No pager devices in Egypt, official assures

A member of the board of directors of the Mobile Division at Cairo Chamber of Commerce, Hamad al-Nabrawy assured that there are no pagers, walkie-talkies, or any similar devices in Egypt.

During a Monday evening phone interview with the al-Hadath al-Youm satellite channel, Nabrawy pointed out that instead of these devices there are models of iPhones, the latest of which is the iPhone 11, whose production has been stopped by Apple, but are being assembled abroad and then exported to Egypt.

Nabrawy explained that these phones are 100 percent counterfeit and not subject to official control.

He called on the relevant authorities to tighten control to prevent the entry of these counterfeit smartphones into Egypt.

This comes in response to Israel’s shock cyber-attack on Lebanon earlier in September, done by blowing up Hezbollah’s pagers or walkie-talkies, which resulted in numerous deaths and injuries.
