CAIRO, Aug 31 (MENA) – Official Spokesperson for the Arab League Gamal Roshdi said there are Arab moves on more than one level to contain what is happening in the Gaza Strip and prevent the expansion of the raging conflict in the region.
During a phone call with AlQahera news channel on Saturday, Roshdi said that the Palestinian issue will be on the top of the agenda of the Arab foreign ministers’ meeting, set for September 10.
The humanitarian situation in Palestine is getting worse, “worse than anything the world has witnessed in any other region,” he said.
The cost of restoring normal life in the Gaza Strip exceeds the limit of imagination, he said, lashing out at the major powers, which are still providing protection for the Israeli occupation, a matter that requires taking a determined stand by the Arab side.
He bitterly regretted the inability of the international community to take decisive action against what is taking place in the Palestinian territories by the Israeli occupation.
