The Director of the Remote Sensing Center at the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) Eman Shaker warned that the heat wave hitting the country will continue until the middle of next week.
During a phone interview with al-Nas satellite channel, Shaker noted that temperatures will rise on Tuesday until the end of the week, reaching between 40C and 45C even in the shade.
She explained: “The declared temperatures are always in the shade, and under the sun’s rays the temperatures are higher than these degrees, and we have not yet started the summer season, which will begin on June 20.”
“We warn against exposure to direct sunlight, and recommend drinking enough water, wear cotton clothes, and also put on a hat while walking in the sun.”
