Egyptian champion Nour el-Sherbini, the world’s current number one in women’s squash, has made a new global achievement after breaking the record set by Australian Michelle Martin.
Sherbini has become the third woman player woman to remain at the top of the international ranking, scheduled to be officially announced by the Professional League on June 9, as the Egyptian champion ensures her dominance in the world rankings to that point.

Sherbini has earned her reputation both locally in Egypt and internationally due to her outstanding performance and entering the top world rankings.
She has a record number of world championship wins, having previously won seven titles in the 2015, 2016, 2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2020-2021, and 2022-2023 seasons.
Sherbini now threatens Malaysian legend Nicol David’s spot, who won the Women’s World Squash Championship eight times in her history before retiring from the game.
