President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has been regularly following up the health ministry’s efforts in support of Palestinian brethren since the onset of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip in October, Health and Population Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said.
All world leaders thanked the political leadership in Egypt for the State’s role in this respect, the minister told DMC satellite TV channel on Tuesday evening 28/5/2024.
Speaking on behalf of 21 countries, state members of the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, during a session to discuss the 14th year draft programme of work, held as part of the 77th General Assembly of the WHO in the Swiss city of Geneva, Egypt has emphasized the need for adopting all the measures necessary to improve general health of citizens all across the globe, the minister said.
It was also important to highlight the fruitful results of Egypt’s cooperation with the UN agency over the past few years, which was crowned with many success stories, such as the initiative of “100 Million Seha” (100 Million Healthy Lives) for eliminating Hepatitis C and detecting non-communicable diseases, Abdel Ghaffar noted.
