Egyptian TV host Amr Adib on Friday revealed that his brother, journalist Emad Eddin Adib, suffered a sudden heart attack while attending a conference in Dubai, and Egyptian comedian and surgeon Bassem Youssef administered first aid to him and saved his life.
During his show “al-Hekaya” (The Story), on MBC Masr on Friday, Adib explained that his brother’s heart had stopped working for a minute and in a chance encounter, Youssef – a medical professional – was there to administer aid.
Amr Adib added: “My relationship with Bassem Youssef is not perfect, but I have all respect for what he did, and I owe him a debt of gratitude. Courage and chivalry are priceless.”
