Gov’t Inks Coop. Protocol with Banque Misr for Youth, Women Economic Empowerment

Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine al-Kabbag and Banque Misr Chairman Mohamed al-Etreby signed Saturday a cooperation protocol to support economic empowerment projects for women and youth living in six villages covered by the presidential “Decent Life” rural development initiative.

Under the LE300 million protocol, the Social Solidarity Ministry and the bank will cooperate for executing 15,000 projects that are expected to create decent job opportunities for eligible households.

In a statement, Kabbag said a standard platform named “Tamkeen” will be launched this month to digitize all micro- and small-sized projects subject to the umbrella of her ministry and Nasser Social Bank (NSB) at LE4.2 billion in total capital earmarked for that purpose.

Meanwhile, Etreby said this new partnership between both sides stems from the bank’s commitment to working with all relevant state bodies in support of any projects that help in achieving economic empowerment for the families most in need in the villages included by the presidential initiative, in line with the State’s policies to support these groups and achieve the goals of Egypt Vision 2030.
