President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Saturday 04/11/2023 received Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati in the presence of Egyptian General Intelligence Service Chief Abbas Kamel and Lebanese Ambassador in Cairo Ali al Halabi.
The meeting highlighted strength and depth of historical and profound relations as well as the maintained coordination among the two sisterly nations, said Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmi.
President Sisi underscored Egypt’s unwavering support to the Lebanese state’s institutions toward preserving the stability of Lebanon and security of its people, the spokesman said.
The Lebanese prime minister hailed Egypt’s support as well as its valuable role in promoting Lebanon’s stability in light of the distinguished relations binding the two countries, according to the spokesman.
The meeting tackled means of boosting bilateral relations in all domains, the spokesman said, adding that they discussed the regional situation and the military escalation in Gaza.
Mikati expressed appreciation of Egypt’s key political and humanitarian role within the context of the crisis.
Meanwhile, President Sisi reviewed Egypt’s role meant to reach a ceasefire and ensure the entry of the humanitarian assistance, the spokesman said.
The two sides asserted that the international community should shoulder responsibility in this regard, through intensifying action to contain the situation and avoid expanding the scale of violence.
They, also, asserted the necessity of reviving the path of peace alongside putting into effect the two-state solution toward achieving justice, security and stability for peoples of the region, the spokesman added.
