Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met, 31-10-2023, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Philippe Lazzarini for talks on the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip and the necessity of ensuring the delivery of humanitarian and relief assistance.
Shoukry asserted the Israeli practices against Gazans are violating terms of international law and humanitarian international law.
Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said Shoukry and the UN official tackled the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Gaza .
Shoukry affirmed Egypt’s firm commitment to exerting all necessary efforts to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian civilians in Gaza .
The spokesman added that Lazzarini was keen on getting acquainted with the Egyptian moves and contacts to reach an immediate, humanitarian truce in Gaza .
