Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi issued his first decision after announcing his candidacy for the 2024 Egyptian presidential elections, appointing judge Mahmoud Fawzi to head his electoral campaign.
President Sisi wrote, on his official campaign page on Facebook: “I have appointed judge Mahmoud Fawzi to head my electoral campaign in the 2024 presidential elections, and to be my legal representative in it, and God is the Grantor of success.”
Sisi officially announced his candidacy for the 2024 Egyptian presidential elections on Monday.
He also called on the Egyptian people to participate positively in the upcoming elections.
“Please, I will be very happy and very honored that the participation rates among all Egyptians who have the right to vote will come out even if they do not choose me.”
He expressed his desire for Egyptians to show the world that Egypt is a state run by the will of its people, and not just one ruler’s.
Sisi concluded by saying, “All people (should) encourage each other and come down to choose whatever you want, and I would be satisfied.”
