President Hosni Mubarak on Sunday said technical studies have concluded at four Egyptian nuclear stations designed for generating electricity.
“We’ll submit the tender of the first nuke station located in Dabaa in weeks, “ said Mubarak in his speech delivered to a joint parliamentary session.
“We’ll keep going through this program [peaceful nuclear program] without hesitation while holding fast to our rights according to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and looking forward to working with whoever achieves our interests at high levels of safe nuclear technology,” the president added.
“Energy supply security will remain as a key factor in drawing the country’s future besides being part of Egypt’s national security.”
Mubarak went on to note the national program for nuclear energy safe usage is a central component to Egypt’s comprehensive energy strategy, including energy diversification policies.
