Egypt top destination for Ukrainian military during military leave

Egypt is the topmost tourist destination that Ukrainian army members have requested to travel to during their military leave.

This came through a special program launched in Ukraine for Ukrainian fighters, through which they can spend their holidays abroad.

The wounded and those undergoing rehabilitation will also benefit from it.

A poll conducted by a Ukrainian tour operator showed that these military personnel asked to travel to Egypt (22.5 percent) as the best foreign destination, with European countries combined coming in second place (18 percent), and Turkey ranked third (6.7 percent).

Overseas destinations included large-scale regions in Europe, the US, countries in Africa, Asia, and Central and South America.

Those going for vacation conditioned that destination countries should have no Russian citizens as they do not want to hear the Russian language or music, while about 40 percent of the military preferred to spend some time in Ukraine after the battles in which they participated.

Others wanted to go to liberated Crimea, Blue Lakes in Donetsk region, Svitiaz in Volyn and others.
