The Director General of the Russian company Rosoboronexport Alexander Mikheev announced on Friday that the Egyptian army has obtained the most powerful Russian weapons.
“I can confirm that Egypt has acquired the latest equipment from Russia,” he said.
Mikheev told RT that cooperation with Egypt is at a very high level, developing at rapid rates, and there are cooperation programs documented in Russian-Egyptian governmental agreements with a work schedule in place.
He added, “We are working intensively today to establish service centers, as Egypt has already obtained the best we have, and if Cairo desires, we will continue to cooperate with it in the field of fighters, military helicopters, air defense systems, electronic warfare, and technical centers.”
Mikheev noted that Egyptian cadres are very well-qualified and professionally prepared, whether in the field of using equipment or in terms of engineering and technical aspects, and said he is hopeful for promising prospects by working with Egypt.
Egypt acquired a variety of unique Russian weapons, which included MiG-29 fighters, Ka-52 helicopters nicknamed “Crocodile”, and Tor M2 and Buk M2 air defense systems, in addition to obtaining On Mi-24 helicopters, and the Russian R-32 missile boat.
