Egyptian soprano Fatma Said is preparing to release the video clip of the song “Masr Heya Omy” (Egypt is My Mother) in its original version.
The clip will be directed by Mohamed al-Alfy and arranged by international artist James Whitbourn. It will be her first music video and feature footage from the Grand Egyptian Museum.
“Masr Heya Omy” has been hailed as a patriotic anthem since the moment Fouad al-Mohandes sang it in the movie “Viva Zalata”.
Said is the second singer to sing the song in a new light, as composed by Kamal al-Taweel with lyrics by Abdel-Wahhab Mohamed.
Said sang the version by Fouad al-Mohandes during her last concert, which was the first public concert to be held in the Grand Museum in Ramses II arena, led by Maestro Nader Abbasi, which was a huge success.
