The Armed Forces organized a visit for 52 Arab and foreign military attaches and their spouses to Al Azhar Sheikhdom headquarters.
The guests met with Al Azhar Undersecretary Mohamed Dawiny and Bishop Ermia, General Bishop and Head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center.
The meeting tackled the history of Al Azhar and its efforts to spread true teachings of Islam.
The delegation also met with Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed el Tayyeb.
The delegation expressed thanks to the Armed Forces for organizing such a visit, lauding the important and pioneering role played by Al Azhar Fatwa Center in protecting society from extremist doctrines.
The visit comes as part of the Armed Forces’ keenness on keeping in contact with accredited Arab and foreign military attaches to Egypt to be aware of the history of Al Azhar and its role in correcting misconceptions about Islam.
