Two people were killed and two others were injured in a car crash on the Eastern Desert Road in front of Bani Mazar.
Two others were killed and one person was injured in a motorbike collision near the city of Maghaghah.
Two people were injured in a collision between a motorbike and a tuk-tuk in front of Damaris village in Minya, and one was injured in a motorcycle rollover in Matay city.
The bodies of the victims and the injured were taken to public hospitals, official claims were filed with the incidents and prosecutors took over investigation.
Traffic accidents in Egypt claim approximately 12,000 lives each year, according to data from the United Nations World Health Organization.
Egypt’s Transportation Minister, Kamel al-Waziry, met with the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety in February to discuss enhancing Egypt’s road safety and reducing road accidents.
A plan to revamp transportation in the country is currently underway, including the design and implementation of a smart transportation system to help alleviate traffic and accidents in the country.
