Easyjet resumes flights to Egypt’s Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh

Head of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority Ashraf Nuwair announced that UK-based EasyJet, one of the most important airlines in the world and Europe, has been certified to operate charter flights to Sharm al-Sheikh and Hurghada international airports in Egypt, as part of the Ministry of Aviation’s ongoing efforts to increase flights to Egyptian cities.

Nuwair explained that this important step is an effective indicator of the return of normalcy in air traffic with European countries after the aviation sector was severely affected by the global coronavirus pandemic.

EasyJet will operate two flights a week to Sharm el-Sheikh Airport from Manchester, on Tuesday and Sunday, in September.

It will run one flight a week, on Wednesday, from Gatwick Airport to Sharm el-Sheikh.

Hurghada Airport will also receive four flights per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, from London’s Gatwick Airport starting September 2, 2020, and two flights a week from Manchester, on Wednesday and Saturday.
