Meteorologists predict very hot weather on Sunday during the daytime on Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, Upper Egypt, with moderately hot weather on the northern coasts.
The weather will grow mild on Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt and the northern coasts, and moderate on Upper Egypt by nightfall.
Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 33C in Alexandria, 42C in Cairo, 43C in Qena, and 44C in Luxor and Aswan.
Light rainfall is expected on Cairo, with light to medium and sometimes thunderous rainfall in Upper Egypt, the Red Sea mountains and South Sinai with possible floods.
Mist will affect visibility during morning time in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and northern coasts.
Winds will be mostly northwestern and moderate across most parts of the country, active sometimes on southern Upper Egypt.
Waves in the Mediterranean Sea will be moderate, ranging between 1.5 and two meters in height, with northeastern surface winds, while waves in the Red Sea will be low to moderate, ranging between one and 1.5 meters in height with northwestern surface winds.
Meteorologists are predicting very hot weather for Egypt starting Saturday and continuing throughout next week, with high temperatures in Cairo exceeding 40C.
A senior official with the Egyptian Meteorological Authority Mahmoud Shahin on Friday said that there is a 30 percent chance of rain on Saturday in Cairo and a 50-60 percent chance of rain in southern Egypt.
Experts note that the northern parts of the country are being affected by a high-pressure area, centered east of the Mediterranean Sea, while the southern parts of the country are affected by the extension of the Sudan low-pressure area.
