Muslim Brotherhood MP and candidate for re-election, Mohamed al-Beltagy, filed a report today to the general prosecutor, accusing security forces of arming thugs in order to assault his supporters in favor of his opponent, a National Democratic Party candidate.
“On 24 November at 11PM, two thugs suddenly came into my office and asked to meet me for urgent issue,” al-Beltagy, running for the "professional's" seat at Shubra al-Kheima district, mentioned in the report.
Al-Beltagy was told, he recounted, security forces plan to arm thugs throughout the district to assault his supporters. The police would then get involved, the two men continued, acccording to al-Beltagy, arrest everyone, only to release the thugs and file reports against the Brotherhood supporters.
