Spokesperson for the Presidency Bassam Rady stated that during the meeting a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Egyptian Naval Forces and Hutchison Ports to establish the terminal according to the highest global standards for container terminals.
Sisi praised the company’s professionalism in the field of ports and container terminals establishment, asserting the importance of building the terminal within the project’s scheduled plan.
Ip praised the company’s investment in Abu Qir port. The company took advantage of the improved investment climate and infrastructure development efforts by the Egyptian government.
He clarified that the company will train around 1,500 Egyptian engineers and workers to perform the various jobs in the terminal, which is expected to receive one million containers per year.
