Egypt’s AOI chairman discusses cooperation with German companies

Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization Abdel Moneim al-Taras stressed the importance of benefiting from Germany’s expertise within the field of railways.

According to Taras, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi instructed the rapid development and modernization of Egypt’s railways, and deepening local industrialization in line with modern technologies.

During his visit to the headquarters of the Bombardier Company in Kassel City, accompanied by Transport Minister Kamel al-Wazir on the sidelines of the German-Arab Economic Forum held in Berlin, Taras inspected the production lines of the international company specialized in the manufacturing of railway diesel and electric tractors.

He talked with the chairman and officials of the company on transferring the latest railway manufacturing technology to Egypt to benefit in the SEMAF factory, affiliated to the Arab Organization for Industrialization.

Taras and Wazir expressed their admiration towards the various tractors which meet the needs of the Transport Ministry and fit the demands of the Egyptian railway, in terms of efficiency and maintenance programs.

Bombardier representatives on their part praised the manufacturing expertise and capabilities of the Arab Organization for Industrialization in the railway field, expressing their desire to enhance cooperation especially in light of the current attractive investment opportunities Egypt provides.

Taras also visited the headquarters of a German company specializing in the manufacturing of hygiene equipment.

He also stressed the importance of benefiting from German expertise in managing waste systems and hygiene equipment, to preserve the cleanliness of the Egypt’s cities.

Taras further discussed with company representatives establishing a joint plant for the production of hygiene equipment with the Arab Organization for Industrialization, in order to meet the needs of the local market and the Arab region and open outlets for export to Africa.
