The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said on Wednesday that peak temperatures of the current heatwave are yet to come, and will take place on Friday and Saturday, before normal weather returns accompanied by heavy rainfall on Sunday.
Temperatures are expected to range between 23-30 degrees during Friday and Saturday.
Sunday’s expected rainfall – which will mainly take place in the north coast – will come after a heatwave prevailed across the country since January 3, causing an increase in temperatures, Head of the EMA Abd Al-Aal said in an interview with ‘Al-Hayaa Al-Youm’ (Life Today) on Al-Hayaa channel.
