United States Central Command apologized on Monday for a Twitter slip-up after it tweeted that Egyptian security forces are ready to eliminate terrorism from its territories, while erroneously attaching a photo of Iraqi forces instead.
The tweet read that Egyptian commando forces, paratroopers, artillery troops, and tanks – all with air support – are confronting remnants of terrorism wherever they are present.
“We humbly apologize for attaching a photo of Iraqi forces on twitter,” said US Central Command, distancing the photo from the post.
US Central Command then asserted that the US military is a proud partner standing alongside Egyptian armed forced in the war against terror.
