A delegation from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), headed by the vice president of the organization, Abu Bakr Djibbo, visited the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to follow up on the measures applied by the authority for Egyptian and international airlines and regional and local airports.
The delegation, which includes four officials, arrived on board an EgyptAir flight from the Kenyan capital Nairobi for a six-day visit.
Director of the regional office of ICAO in Egypt and the Middle East Mohamed Rahma and a public relations team received the delegation at Cairo International Airport.
All departments of the concerned authorities will be under the command of the delegation, particularly the departments for air operations, aircraft validity, vacations, air navigation and airport safety standards among others, sources said.
The sources noted that this follow-up is a regular procedure by the ICAO to ensure air safety.
