Meteorologists expect wave of bad weather for 4 days

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicted a wave of very bad weather that would reach its peak on Saturday and Sunday. The bad weather wave is expected to end on Monday, according to EMA.

The EMA said in a statement that heavy thunderstorms and rains are expected to fall on the northern shores of the Mediterranean, starting from Salloum until the cities of Rafah and Arish.

Rains will range in strength between light to moderate on Lower Egypt, Cairo and the Suez Canal cities. Temperatures will reach frost from central Sinai up until northern Upper Egypt.

The meteorological authority appealed to the provincial meteorological authority leaders to take the necessary measures to reduce the negative effects caused by heavy rains; and called on officials at the Red Sea and Mediterranean port authorities to take precautionary measures.

The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation raised the degree of readiness at water channels and sewers in governorates in anticipation of the rains.

Some governorates witnessed a wave of bad weather on Wednesday and Thursday, especially Alexandria and Beheira, where rains caused traffic confusion.
