Public Prosecutor Nabil Sadek ordered on Monday the implementation of the criminal court verdict which stated that the name of former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq should be removed from the watchlists and the lists of those banned from travel starting December 13.
Dina Adly Hussein, Shafiq’s lawyer, ceded the complaint she filed on December 12 urging the prosecutor to reveal reasons behind including her client’s name on the watchlists.
On November 16, North Cairo Criminal Court of First Instance approved Shafiq’s grievance and canceled the decision that put his name on the watchlists.
