The next meeting of foreign ministers and irrigation ministers of Sudan, Egypt, and Ethiopia will be held in Addis Ababa soon, said Ethiopian Foreign Minister Tedros Adhanom in a joint press conference with the Ethiopian irrigation minister Tuesday evening.
The three countries reached an agreement about the consulting firms that will conduct studies on the Renaissance Dam, said Adhanom.
Adhanom said the two companies are French and are scheduled to begin work early in February 2016.
The Ethiopian Energy and Water Minister Mutuma Mikasa said the disagreements between the three countries on the consulting firms halted talks about the Renaissance Dam for more than nine months.
Mikasa denied media reports about Egypt's request from Ethiopia to stop construction work on the dam.
"These reports are not true. Egypt has not asked us to halt work on the project," the Ethiopian minister mentioned.
