Muslims community officials in France call for ‘Brothers’ Tea’

The French Council for Islamic Culture called on Islamic officials of mosques in France to open mosques for the public on January 9 and 10 for an event called  "Brothers' Tea" to show the tolerance of Islam.
French newspaper Le Figaro quoted Samadi Anwar Kebeish, president of the council, as saying that the aim of the event is to commemorate the January 11 protests against the terrorist attacks in France and to express strong will for coexistence.

The newspaper pointed out that millions of French people staged huge protests in the wake of the attacks that targeted the Charlie Hebdo headquarters on January 11 to show national unity against terrorism.

The newspaper denounced confusing terrorists with Muslims in France.

During the event, the French Council for Islamic Culture will respond to questions that people ask about Islam and will have tea and desserts in an attempt to launch a dialogue for a better understanding between Muslims and other cultures.
