One guard was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting early Thursday outside a post office in the town of Badrashin, Giza.
A source from the Giza Security Directorate said the total number of victims is still unclear and the the shooting has not yet been designated as a terrorist attack.
Egypt has witnessed recurrent attacks on police and army forces and attempted bombings of public facilities since the ouster of former President Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
