US actor Morgan Freeman's private jet was forced into an emergency landing Saturday in Tunica, Mississippi, after the plane blew a tire.
Wrab website reported that Freeman, 78, survived the accident without injuries, according to a statement by Freeman following the incident.
Freeman was heading to Texas to continue shooting for his documentary film "The Story of God".
"Sometimes things don’t go as planned and a tire blew on takeoff, which caused other problems,” Freeman said in a statement. “But thanks to my excellent pilot Jimmy Hobson we landed safely [and] without a scratch."
The Wrab made a comical referrence to the curse of the pharaohs, saying it may have hit Freeman after his recent visit to Egypt.
Freeman visited Egypt in October to shoot scenes for "The Story of God" film in Old Cairo.
The film examines ideas of divinity and worship in different countries.
