The Egyptian company managing and operating the subway has announced the arrival of the tenth air conditioned train for the first metro line, from Marg to Helwan, to be tested before becoming operational.
Company spokesperson Ahmed Abdel Hadi said the sixth train went into service two weeks ago, the seventh and the eighth trains will be operational this month and the ninth and the tenth trains will go into service next month.
The train is part of an agreement with Korean company Hyundai Rotem to deliver 20 trains for a cost of LE2.2 billion.
